from the homeland...

our team is here safe and sound.
been doing lots of traveling around to visit the factories.
it's been fun times. we've really been blessed with our friendship and instant unity in joy and laughter.
the 6 of us kids have a huge task ahead of us and today we're starting our planning stages, which will be tons of fun.
the food here is not bad. good chinese food.
however, as dano might tell you later, the McD's is just not the same! haha... i was actualy kinda scared cuz i had a milkshake last nite and it didn't realy taste like milkshake. i guess food just tastes different. haha.. the fries were given a 3/10.

other than that... our spirits are high tho the rains are coming down.
we're staying at a crazy big mansion type house thing.
a/c is the most beautiful thing invented. and so is TP.

to update later..

well jus for the last update... what a crazy awkward and almost bad day...
started off amazing with good quiet time.... chilling as usual... shopping as usual... then the shocker... the beginning of the trip orientation. oye.... almost a nightmare... i'm scared. nervous. duno what to think anymore. need some time to think and process things. i know god will be there with me... and mebbe this is the length that he needs to go to really make me know that he is the one. anyways.... yeah.... not so great for a last update... but this is where i am...pls remember me in all your prayers.

WoW!!

HK is all about the shopping...
every day since i've been here i've been shopping and eating... ALL DAY! like no JOKE! but aside from all the fun times, i realized how blessed i am to have so many friends. i counted today... at least 17 of us Queen's ppl here... and we've been getting together and spending time together like we never before in Kingston. something about this place and mebbe the oasis of english speech amidst the canto desert. it's been amazing! amazing and fun!!

HK is also about the worship...
Our team has been deeply affected by the opportunities we've had to worship here in HK. first, it was 180 on saturday nite. it was a much needed refresher. i think it pushed us all out of whatever state of denial, fear, apprehension we had and made us realized that it's not about us, cuz we're nothing in the end. then, ecc this morning jus set everything in stone. it smoothed out everything and made us know for sure that God needed us to really trust him if we ever wanted to do anything of worth for him. =) so wonderfully blessed!

RECON: happy (possible) first official game!!! i heard you guys had some mighty "character building" practice on friday - 8 degrees and windy eh? you guys are troopers! WOO! GO RECON!! i just know that you guys are gona do great this afternoon and have tons of fun while playing! just... hold on tight to those bats and try not to get ejected. Play hard. :) Pray harder. i'm here cheering for you, team!! YAY!!!!

here in HK now...
wow... crazy torrential rains for the past 2 days.
i got in around 5ish.. and was out for dinner with some OLD RHCCC friends! goooood times! yay for chinese literate John Cheng, Belak, Ricky, and Stephie! After dinner we walked around the closed Ocean mall - windown shopping... good thing too cuz everything was 'hi, i'm a millionaire" expensive! oiy!! then we went to some taiwanese dessert place (i think) and had shaved ice. YAY
haha.. actually it was really good. green tea flavoured ice (crazy!), red bean paste, and ice cream! woo ice cream!!!

today was all shopping.. non-stop from 730 - 1030... a full day of shopping...
well what else is HK for right? yay!

bed time...

Hey Team

I'm just about to board that plane that takes me far far away... to that land where they may look like us... but softball may mean some sort of gelatinous substance to ingest...CHINA

It's sad to leave a summer that has started off so well here in Toronto... thanks for letting me play softball with you guys as a "visitor" all those Fridays. I really felt like I was on the team...(next year... next year...) and SUPER DUPER thanks for the RECON SHIRT!! woooo!
