when the world gets rough, look up

serenity
peace
quiet
calm
sometimes it's tough being a part of the Get Nat a Career campaign
school and homework seeping into every restful moment
obligations and committments weighing down
then there's all the campaigning
stress
down here
constantly worrying
looking left and right never finding home
desperation hits
exhaustion settles
burnt out without hope
"why?"
He says
"i'm here for you"
Live your life in Me

must stop smiling at chinas

i love China. teaching English in China this summer was one of the most challenging and life-changing experiences of my life. i have MANY MANY cherished memories and i still keep in touch with my students. but in light of ..um.. the progress of ...um... how my students from China (even the ones here in TO) seem to like to relate to me, here is the newest list brought to you by one English Corner 2006 alumni.

Reasons why distance between China and Canada is good:
(taken from past and recent emails or conversations- believe me, none of it is taken out of context)

1. "i call you sweet girl, because your cute performance have made a deeply affection on my heart. ... i will check my my email box everyday, if you are avaluable, canyou send the email t me every day."

2. "I like contact with yours, because I was knocked out of your quality."

3. "I feeled communion with you is a very happy thing. ... I will miss you evry much!"

4. "I send a picture for you.what are you doing?I hope you come to China again. Can you send you pictures for me?"

5. "WILL YOU HAVE A MEETING TODAY?I REALLY HOPE THAT I CANJOIN YOU.I WANT TO STAY WITH MORE TIME.YOU ARE MY FORERE FRIENDS.IF YOUWILL HAVE A MEETING .PLEASE CALLME "

6. After English class, ... "happened" to accompany me on my way home... I was walking very fast and trying to be casual at the same time.

student: "What are you doing on Saturday Night?"
me: ..... *shifty eyes*
student: "Because I have 2 extra tickets to a *** *** *** concert"
me: "oh yeah?"
student: "Yeah they are very good. I have 2 extra tickets and I don't have many friends so I don't have anyone to give them to who will be interested. Do you want to go to the concert? They are very good."
me: "oh, actually I'm busy this weekend"
student: "Yes but this is your only chance to go. They are very good. I can give you the ticket now or else they are a waste."
me: "Thanks *** but I'm actually not even here this weekend I'm sure you'll find someone to give the tickets to."
student: "No I have no one else to give them to. You should think about going."
me: "ooookay... well I'm goin this way... have a good night."

7. At dinner..."happened" to put his bags down at my table

student: "You say you want to know chinese. Well, I found a song for you. It is beautiful"
me: "Yeah? That's cool."
student: "Yes, do you want to listen?" *pulls out earphones to share*
me: "Well I probably won't understand it anyways, I think I learn better if I have the lyrics"
student: "Okay, give me your email address I will send you the words"
me: "mm I need to hear the song and read the words at the same time, can you write it out for me?"
student: "I have no paper. What is your email?"
me: "OH I HAVE PAPER!"
student: "I don't have pen. I can just send you email when i go home"
me: "I FOUND A PEN! here... thank you! I'm gona get more food" *gets up for seconds*

love isn't love til you give it away

some of you have been asking me bout my seminary life.
here it is summed up in one word:
LOVE

exhibit A:
jeff wants to give you his heart. this brown baby can't get enough of that mint chocolate chip ice cream.

this is the brown version of my asian twin, ifun. he even has the ivan hands and the does the hand on the hips ivan pose. haha.

you two make me laugh!!

love = to bring laughter to another's life

oh the memories of the box... what were you doing anyways?

ignore the pickle.

exhibit B:
joel's signature smile. other than specializing in food and IT services, he's the nicest coach i've ever had. (p.s. i'm stealing joel's pics)

love = happy heart = cheerful face (prov 15:13)

first a wang.... now a tang.... wang tang!!! meet my 4th yr venting buddy (aka. mini joel tang - the female version!)

oh wentworth, wherefore art thou?
ew! for him.
much love for angie!

food. also girls enjoying food.

exhibit C:
hannah and jess loving the food. loving each other.

love = being among friends

ah, nothing better than a bunch of girls duelling it out on dreamcast tetris. i can hear johnny in the back ground, "nubes! i pwn u all!"

end of year 06 dinner... i'll always miss you guys

p.s. i don't usually go formal to tetris showdowns... i had an anesthesia banquet that nite... sry girls only boring or wrinkly docs.

of course there's nothing that screams love like FAMILY

F.A.T. club and a dash of cousin love

so it's been a while. seminary's been treatin me well. that might be a part of the reason for the lack of writing on this thing. it's the reading books and the writing papers that takes up much of my precious blogging time. HAHA. naw. sem's great. tons of cool friends and such who eat way too much to be just normal friends. no better way to get to know each other than eating together. and we certainly do that without any problems.

today was FAT club's kick off dinner and let's jus say this girl made friendly with the can. as one wise joel tang might say, "push the old stuff out to make room for the new" haha... oh how we love the asian descriptions of... well... stuff. anyways.....
good times were had. lots of food of course. thai and viet what more could you ask for. i'm not craving pho anymore that's all i know.

on another note.
i come home to my msn to find my lovely sweet little cousin (who grew up way too fast) sending me a pic of the street outside her house the other day. Oh how did she put it...: "RUN when you cross the street" ~~ much love Sa! ~~

how's that for appetizing....
